Established in 1861, Dyer is considered to be one of the first and original counties within the state of Nevada. Much like many other communities in Nevada, Dyer was discovered and settled after prime mining opportunities were discovered in the area by the Palmetto Mining District. Less than a decade later, borax was being extracted at Fish Lake by Pacific Borax Works and the Frigging & Nyman Company.
Dyer was named after the very first postmaster to service the area in 1881, Alex P. Dyer. The town today has not seen much growth in terms of population, currently being home to less than 300 residents as of the 2010 national census.
This rural community is mostly home to ranchers and indigenous Paiute, though a post office, cafe, gas station, and convenience store are also located within the area.
The unincorporated community of Dyer is located between the Silver Peak and White Mountains, making it an ideal area for agricultural activity given the copious amount of water available to ranchers and farmers. Cattle farms, horse ranches, and alfalfa crops have long been grown and cared for in this part of the Fish Lake Valley, though unfortunately these laborious jobs also leave those performing such tasks open to back injury.
It’s estimated that at any given time, 31 million Americans will be suffering from low-back pain. It’s the single leading cause of disability globally, and half of all hardworking Americans admit to suffering from back pain symptoms every single year.
This results in:
In fact, it was estimated that Americans spend $50 billion annually on back pain and back pain treatments. But what is worse is that many of these individuals currently living in pain are suffering financial hardship when they shouldn’t be.
Many individuals currently suffering from back pain who are missing work, or are paying large bills for medications, chiropractic care and doctor’s appointments shouldn’t be footing the bill.
If your back pain is the result of a workplace injury or the negligence of another individual, then you have every right to hold someone else financially liable for your treatment and recovery.
