S. Brent Vogel

"The first duty of society is justice." Alexander Hamilton said it, and Brent Vogel has built a career around it. Raised in Boulder, Colorado, and later Tucson, Arizona, Brent grew up in a household shaped by academic discipline and intellectual curiosity. His father was a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Colorado and also worked at IBM, instilling in Brent an early appreciation for rigorous thinking and precise communication.

That foundation led him to the University of Arizona, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English literature. The work of careful reading, clear writing, and building a persuasive argument felt natural, and it pointed him directly toward law. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1994, and has been practicing ever since.

For nearly three decades, Brent worked in healthcare litigation on the defense side, representing hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers in complex, high-stakes matters. That experience gave him a rare vantage point: a deep understanding of how medical negligence cases are built, evaluated, defended, and resolved. He knows how the other side thinks because he used to be the other side.
Today, Brent brings that same level of preparation and precision to representing patients and families harmed by medical error, unsafe care, and preventable loss. His approach is hands-on and direct. He takes the time to listen, explains the process in plain language, and makes sure clients are never left wondering where things stand. Healthcare cases are often deeply technical and deeply personal at the same time. Clients deserve a lawyer who can navigate both.

That commitment to preparation and verified trial experience earned Brent membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only national organization that requires lawyers to demonstrate a substantial record as lead trial counsel before they are considered. It is a credential built on what attorneys have actually done in a courtroom.
Away from the office, Brent values time with his wife, whether on the golf course or tending the garden, and stays closely connected with his extended family, including his parents, sisters, brother, nieces, and nephew.

Brent earned his Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of Arizona in 1990. The analytical and writing skills he developed there became the foundation for how he approaches complex legal work: reading carefully, understanding the human story behind the facts, and building a clear, compelling case.

He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1994, and was admitted to the Arizona State Bar that same year. He was admitted to the Nevada State Bar in 1998.

Following law school, Brent spent nearly three decades in healthcare litigation, developing deep command of medical negligence law, complex discovery, and trial preparation. That background now serves the clients he represents today.
