{"id":995,"date":"2019-03-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-28T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cartercullold.wpenginepowered.com\/las-vegas-psych-hospital-accused-of-negligence\/"},"modified":"2026-01-25T18:43:57","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T02:43:57","slug":"las-vegas-psych-hospital-accused-of-negligence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cartercullen.com\/es\/las-vegas-psych-hospital-accused-of-negligence\/","title":{"rendered":"Hospital psiqui\u00e1trico de Las Vegas acusado de negligencia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An independent accrediting organization has taken action against a Las Vegas mental health agency based on claims that\u00a0<strong>patients were jeopardized when they were improperly transported out of state<\/strong>\u00a0after discharge.<\/p>\n<p>Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services\u2019 hospital program, which includes Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital, faces a \u201cpreliminary denial of accreditation\u201d by officials from the Joint Commission, who cast votes on the issue in light of findings from a May visit.<\/p>\n<p>According to an article in the\u00a0<em>Las Vegas Sun<\/em>, the agency has the right to appeal this decision, which was made after\u00a0<a href=\"\/es\/abogado-especializado-en-casos-de-abuso-en-hogares-de-ancianos-en-las-vegas\/\">inspectors found alleged\u00a0negligence<\/a>\u00a0which may cause the program to lose its accreditation.<\/p>\n<p>The Joint Commission recently posted a list of non-compliant standards on their website. Though officials have visited Rawson-Neal as recently as July 2, the list concerns problems identified during a full-site visit conducted in May.<\/p>\n<p>Rawson-Neal\u2019s policies came into question when the story of James Brown was first published by the\u00a0<em>Sacramento Bee<\/em>. According to the paper, Brown arrived in Sacramento, California disoriented and without a support system after being put on a Greyhound Bus following his discharge from the facility in February.<\/p>\n<p>Based on claims that state officials exercised negligence in shirking their fiduciary duty, the American Civil Liberties Union has filed suit against six state agencies on Brown\u2019s behalf.<\/p>\n<p>Included in the recent list of compliance violations published by the Joint Commission are claims that patients receive insufficient follow-up care after discharge and improper documentation of patient discharge information.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An independent accrediting organization has taken action against a Las Vegas mental health agency based on claims that\u00a0patients were jeopardized when they were improperly transported out of state\u00a0after discharge.
